The metalcore genre over the last 3-4 years has had to face some probing questions into its relevancy to the modern music scene, but with Killswitch Engage waving the commercial metalcore flag and Chimaira and Unearth continuing to bust a gut touring the globe it seems the genre along with its tours are just about hanging on.rnrnOne such tour made its way...

Despite wretched weather, the atmosphere couldn't be more energetic as the fans wait for this night of epic proportions to start. After a few beverages and finding my place, the venue bursts into life with openers, Rise to Remain (7/10). Their "new-era" British Metal sound has no trouble in impressing both old and new metal fans with face-melting solos...
